Terms of service
Last updated [DATE] · Effective [DATE]
Plain terms for using Pastime. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Before publishing: replace every bracketed placeholder, and have a lawyer review this. It is a reasonable starting draft, not legal advice.
1. Who we are
Pastime is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us"), a limited liability company registered in [STATE], United States.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Pastime. You must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for what happens under your account.
Give us accurate information. Don't impersonate anyone, and don't pick a username designed to mislead.
3. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Break the law, or use Pastime to help anyone else do so
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in reviews, comments, or lists
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or attack the service, or try to access data that isn't yours
- Use automated systems to hammer our servers or the APIs we depend on
- Resell or redistribute the data Pastime provides
We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules.
4. Your content
Your reviews, lists, and comments are yours. You keep ownership.
By posting content you make public, you give us a limited licence to store and display it inside Pastime so that the feature works. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We don't use your content for anything else.
5. Other people's content
Pastime shows information from third parties, including TMDB, Trakt, BallDontLie, and Highlightly. We don't own it and we can't guarantee it's accurate, complete, or up to date. Schedules move, scores lag, metadata is sometimes wrong.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
6. Notifications
Pastime can send reminders and score alerts. We do our best to deliver them on time, but push notifications depend on your device, your network, and Google's delivery infrastructure. Don't rely on Pastime as the only thing standing between you and a missed game.
7. Service changes
We may add, change, or remove features. We may introduce paid tiers in future; if we do, we'll be clear about what's paid before you pay for anything.
8. Ending things
Delete your account whenever you like — see Delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, or if we stop operating Pastime. If we shut the service down, we'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to get your data.
9. No warranty
Pastime is provided "as is". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data will always be correct. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Pastime. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, or [USD 50].
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll update the date above and let you know in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use Pastime afterwards means you accept the new terms.
