Last updated [DATE] · Effective [DATE]

Pastime is a calendar-first tracker for TV, movies, and sports. To remember what you watch and follow, we store some data about you. This page says exactly what, and why.

Before publishing: replace every bracketed placeholder. Confirm the entity name matches your LLC filing exactly, and that the effective date is on or before your Play Store submission.

Who we are

Pastime is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a limited liability company registered in [STATE], United States. For anything in this policy, reach us at support@pastimenow.com.

What we collect

Only what the app needs to work. There is no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

DataWhy we have it
Email addressTo create your account and sign you in. Handled by our authentication provider.
Google account identityOnly if you choose "Sign in with Google". We receive your email and basic profile, not your password.
Username, display name, avatarTo identify you in the app and, if you share a list, to other people you share it with.
Watch activityEpisodes watched, movies watched, games followed, and shows and teams you follow. This is the core of what Pastime does.
Ratings, reviews, listsContent you create. Reviews are private unless you explicitly make them public.
Notification token and device infoTo send the reminders and score alerts you turn on. Without this we cannot deliver a notification to your phone.
Time zoneSo a 7pm reminder arrives at 7pm where you are.
Crash and diagnostic reportsWhen the app crashes, we receive an automatic report describing what went wrong and the device model. It is used to fix bugs.

Location

Pastime can suggest teams from your metro area. This only happens when you tap "Find my local teams" — we never ask for location in the background or on startup.

When you do tap it, we request approximate location (not precise GPS), use it on your device to work out which metro area you are in, and show you the teams there. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers and are never stored. They exist in your phone's memory for a moment and are then discarded.

You can decline. The app works normally and you pick your teams from the full list instead.

What we do not collect

Who we share it with

We share data only with the services that make the app run. Each one only receives what it needs.

ServiceWhat it does
SupabaseHosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account and watch activity live here.
Google FirebaseDelivers push notifications and receives crash reports.
TMDB, TraktSupply movie and TV information. They receive requests for titles, not your identity.
BallDontLie, HighlightlySupply sports schedules, scores, and highlights. Same — no personal data.

We do not sell your personal information. We will disclose data if legally compelled to, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays until you delete your account. When you do, it is removed from our systems — see Delete your account. Crash reports are retained by Firebase on their own schedule, typically around 90 days, and are not linked to your identity.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We honour these requests regardless of where you are — email support@pastimenow.com.

Children

Pastime is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your records is restricted at the database level so that your account can only read and write its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and fix problems when we find them.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect.
